Text:
Operation Rescue is speaking out in the case of the New York woman who died in Maryland in a botched late-term abortion.  They say if the Maryland hospital does not file a complaint with the state medical board, they will file suit in order to bring medical scrutiny to the work of abortionist Doctor LeRoy Carhart.  There is an ongoing criminal investigation by the state attorney general in Maryland related to Carhart’s operation in that state.

As the next 40 Days for Life gets underway, one prayer demonstration in Greensboro North Carolina had to be canceled because the abortion business, faced with another round of legal prayer and vigil outside their doors, closed their doors permanently.  ||
Lima Ohio was the site of another recent abortion clinic closing.

A recent poll of New York voters should be giving its governor headaches.  Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York wants to get rid of all pro-life laws in his state and promote late-term abortions, so Cuomo has proposed to the legislature a so-called “Reproductive Choice Act”.  The in-depth McLaughlin poll paid for by the Chiaroscuro Foundation shows support for the governor’s position well below 20 percent, over 60 percent strongly disagreed with his ideas.

Maryland Attorney General Investigating LeRoy Carhart, New Policies at Mount Sinai Hospital Protect Conscience, Texas Teen Sues Parents to Stop Abortion Coercion, 40 Days for Life Kickoff

Text:
While local officials investigate the death of Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, the Maryland Attorney General’s office has opened an investigation into late-term abortion practitioner LeRoy Carhart whose botched abortion killed the 29-year-old teacher last week.  Another woman, Christin Gilbert, died eight years ago in Kansas after another botched abortion by LeRoy Carhart.

Medical personnel at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital were being forced to take part in abortions before ADF attorneys took their case.  A newly completed HHS investigation has resulted in policy and procedure changes to ensure that medical personnel are not forced to participate in abortions.

The Elliot Institute says at least half of all abortions are coerced.  Reinforcing that statistic is a story from Texas where a pregnant teenager who wants to keep her child is suing her parents to stop them from making her have an abortion.

40 Days for Life kicks off Wednesday.  Abortion clinics generally have a distinct downturn in business when people are outside their businesses praying.  One Planned Parenthood in Arizona plans to extend its hours 40%.

20130212 LifeNews Radio Abortion Investigation-Benedict-Gosnell Trial-Arkansas Ban-Forcing Arizona-Refusing CPR
Last week’s fatal abortion at Leroy Carhart’s abortion business in Germantown near Washington DC is being investigated.  While there seems to be no overt criminality, the tragedy of late-term abortion will likely take front stage.  Jennifer Morbelli was 29 years old.

The health concerns of Pope Benedict and the end of his term as the Bishop of Rome to enter a life of prayer may be interesting.  But nothing is as interesting as how this man with great intellect clearly and repeatedly articulated Christian and even secular concerns over issues like abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia and other bioethics topics.

Other stories at Life News-dot-com include an update on Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia-based abortion Doctor who is facing murder charges in the deaths of seven babies.  Pro-lifers in Ireland are having to fight grossly distorted polls painting a rosy picture of abortion opinion there.

And in state news, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe signed a ban on abortion funding in ObamaCare and a judge is forcing Arizona to fund Planned Parenthood despite legislative action there.  Also, a measure in the Texas legislature is under fire: a national pro-life group says it would allow doctors the right to refuse giving CPR to patients.

Tragic Death of New York Teacher, Media Outlets Ignore Late-Term Abortion Death, Washington State May Be Turning Tide on Abortion

20130211 LifeNews Radio Tragic Death-Media Ignores-Washington State Bills

A 29-year-old woman and her husband discovered that their pre-born child was suffering some anomalies, so they traveled to the clinic of Leroy Carhart near Washington DC and four days later both mother and child were dead.  Family members told the hospital that abortionist Doctor Carhart failed to respond to their urgent phone calls.  Troy Newman of Operation Rescue said, “The avoidable death of this young woman dramatically illustrates the dangers of third trimester abortions that are done outside of the safety of obstetrical standards.” The mother was a kindergarten teacher from New York State.  Details are at LifeNews–dot–com.

Major media outlets are avoiding not only the tragic details of this story, but the apparently dangerous practice of late-term abortions.  Despite offering a news conference in the Washington DC area detailing the situation, only one newspaper sent a reporter to get the news. There was… no Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, and no coverage from the networks or AP.

From the state was first to legalize abortion in the US, comes news that activists may be turning the tide.  While one bill lingers near death in Washington State that would force all maternity health care coverage plans to also pay for abortion, another bill requiring parental notification before abortion is bringing large pro-life crowds to the state capital in Olympia in support of the pro-life measure.

Interior Department Cabinet Level Appointment Draws Attention to ObamaCare Exemptions, Thomas More Society Calling to Investigate Abortionist in Tonya Reaves’ Death

Text:
Pro-life groups, religious organizations and persons of conscience in business are unable to get what the White House has given to some businesses that are somehow favored by the Obama Administration.  Sally Jewell is the very successful head of REI Incorporated, an outdoor sports outfitter based in Seattle, and is now the President’s nominee for the Interior Department.  The president says REI is deserving to be made exempt from law by a White House decision—some would call it an arbitrary decision—granted because of the way this particular company performs.  Pro-life advocates and legal experts will be commenting on this implicit legal problem and precedent in the coming days as Sally Jewell’s nomination proceeds through US Senate confirmation.

The pro-life legal group, the Thomas More Society, says Illinois must investigate a doctor working at a Chicago Planned Parenthood business.  The Cook County medical examiner said 24-year-old Tonya Reeves died last summer from a bungled D and E abortion-the pregnancy itself did not contribute to her death.  The autopsy put the sole responsibility for her death on Planned Parenthood and the only way in Illinois to investigate is to investigate the doctor.

Blogger and LifeNews.com Threatened with Lawsuit, President Obama Celebrates Roe V Wade and NARAL Leadership, Prosecution of August Attack on Family Research Council, Archbishop Chaput Criticizes HHS Mandate Rewrite, Mother Teresa Video on YouTube-Abortion Threat to Peace

A leading black advocacy group has threatened to sue life news.com and black pro-life leader Ryan Bomberger, a blogger at Life News.com.  A recent column was entitled, “National Association for the Abortion of Colored People” and took the civil rights organization to task over its abortion position.

In a videotaped address to the pro-abortion group NARAL, President Barack Obama said that he celebrates the Roe V Wade decision, ignoring its 55 million abortions. According to a Politico report, Obama thanked outgoing NARAL president Nancy Keenan, calling the abortion activist  “a friend and counselor to me and my administration.”

The shooter in last August’s attack on the Family Research Council Headquarters pled guilty in Washington DC to three charges Wednesday.  Prosecutors said that investigators examined the assailant’s computer and found that he used a liberal website to identify or select his target.

Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia is taking to task the proposed revisions to the controversial HHS mandate forcing religious groups and people of conscience in business to pay for anything that interdicts parenthood and childbearing.  And YouTube now has the famous interview with Mother Teresa of Calcutta where she maintained that abortion is the “greatest threat to peace in the world”.

New HHS Rules Mean New HHS Plaintiffs and New HHS Lawsuits, Twins Born at 23 Weeks Gestation Bring New Focus on Life before Birth, Neural Stem Cells Developed from Kidney Cells Found in Urine

Listen here for LifeNews Radio for February 6, 2013:
20130206 LifeNews Radio New HHS Lawsuits-23 Weeks Gestation-Neural Stem Cells
Text:
Attorneys defending the HHS mandate requiring all employers regardless of conscience to pay for abortifacient and contraceptive drugs have repeatedly said plaintiffs cases should be thrown out because there was a change to the mandate coming.  Now that the new mandate rule has been issued, plaintiffs’ attorneys have filed new lawsuits alleging a violation of religious freedom against business owners with conscientious objection against the rule.

After a lengthy battle for life against the most astonishing odds twin boys, born at just 23 weeks gestation have become some of the most premature sets of twins ever to survive.  The attention given the twins brings renewed focus on the life of the unborn in the middle of pregnancy.

You may have heard of pluripotent adult stem cells developed from cells in tooth roots, placental tissue or other sources.  Here is a new source discovered in China.  Researchers there found epithelial kidney cells in human urine and have used a more reliable method to steer these tissue cells-or to tap into their pluripotency-and create nerve cells, clearly an amazing breakthrough for adult stem cell therapy.

February 5, 2013 New HHS Rules Force Compliance, Catholic Hospital Drops Legal Argument Denying Personhood of Unborn, 12,000 Plan B Covert Prescriptions in New York City Schools

Text:
Some media outlets and others looking at the revised HHS contraceptive-abortifacient drug mandate are clearly under the impression that the HHS has substantially expanded its exemptions for “religious employers” under mandate rules.  Pro-life groups and others are saying, “Not so fast.”  Now, no distinction is being made between houses of worship, its schools, institutions, or its employees.  Attorney Wesley Smith says the new rules, despite their nice-sounding press releases, are a rapid way for the Obama administration to expand the HHS mandate.  No conscience is allowed in the public square, no institution is allowed to express in their business conduct what they teach in their classrooms, even insurance for nuns in a church convent would be required to offer contraceptives.

After nationwide criticism and being taken to task by three Colorado bishops, Catholic Health Initiatives will no longer argue in court that an unborn child is not a person.  St. Thomas More Hospital is defending itself against the suit involving the tragic death of twin unborn boys at that hospital.

12,000 doses of the Plan B morning-after pill have been dispensed to New York City school children.  A report in the New York Post says the abortifacient hormone overdoses were dispensed without involving parents.

February 4, 2013 New HHS Mandate Rules, IPAB Rationing Board Hits a Snag, Resisting Investigation of Abandoned Children after Failed Abortions, Reproductive Coercion-ACOG Wants Screening of Pregnant Women

Listen here for LifeNews Radio for February 4, 2013:
20130204 LifeNews Radio Revised Mandate-IPAB Hitch-Investigation Opposed-Reproductive Coercion

Text:
The White House’ new development of HHS rules takes aim at conscience held by business owners and backs away from imposing on many religious groups the contraceptive mandate, the same one that includes abortifacient drugs and most anything that interdicts childbearing.  Companies like Hobby Lobby are left out in the cold, which is in keeping with the White House stated view that people who own businesses somehow give up any right to conscience.

Get accustomed to the initials, “I-P-A-B”.  It stands for the Independent Payment Review Board and is the rationing panel set up by ObamaCare.  The controversial board has, for now, hit a snag. No one wants to be on the board of what has been called, “15 unelected strangers in charge of Americans’ health care decisions.”

In other news, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is opposing a call by three MPs for an investigation into Canadian government figures showing that nearly 5-hundred children have been born alive and subsequently left to die following failed abortions. And while there is no call from the medical community to screen for the 40 percent of abortions that are coerced, a committee of gynecologists are calling for screening of what they are calling ‘reproductive coercion’.

February 1st Twitter Censors Black Pro-Lifers, Arkansas Senate Passes Abortion Ban-Injunction against HHS Mandate, 491 Babies from Failed Abortions Left to Die

This is LifeNews Radio for February 1, 2013
20130201 LifeNews Radio Twitter Censorship-Arkansas Ban-HHS Injunction-Canadian Probe

A coalition of African-American pro-life activists have had their Twitter account suspended after firing off tweets challenging the NAACP over its position favoring abortion.  Leading black pro-life advocates have been planning to protest the NAACP’s pro-abortion activism at its 44th Image Awards Show.

The Arkansas Senate passed a bill on to that state’s house that would ban virtually all abortions by making any abortion illegal when the baby has a heartbeat.  States are allowed to restrict abortion within certain guidelines.  This law would test those guidelines.

Another of the lawsuits against the HHS contraceptive-abortifacient drug mandate has yielded a preliminary injunction against the mandate on behalf of a family-run business.  The significance of the injunction is that it is the second time the seventh circuit Court of Appeals has found that there is a reasonable likelihood that plaintiffs will prevail in court with their case against the mandate.

When an abortion fails, it fails because the child is delivered.  Members of the Canadian Parliament are calling a probe into figures we released at life news.com.  In November, we reported on Statistics Canada figures showing nearly 500 children were abandoned to die following failed abortions in Canada.
