Saint Mark, Prayer, and Holy Communion

Addressing the congregation, but especially those receiving their First Communion, Father Mulholland teaches in this homily how to pray so that we fully love God.

St. Paul teaches the Church that God ‘has us surrounded’… by saints in heaven!  St. Mark Parish has been committed to the spiritual care and prayer of the original Saint Mark, the author of one Gospel and companion to St. Paul, St. Barnabas and to St. Peter.  Having transferred the Feast of St. Mark from the previous Monday to this Sunday, Father Mulholland takes the time to share how we should not only ask for Saint Mark’s help in prayer, but how Christians should pray, pray more, and pray well.  This sermon is also the one preached for children receiving their first holy communion and he teaches how we all should receive Christ the way these children receive Him this day.
